Support Arrowpak’s Terry Cobbin in the fight against cancer

Aug 14 | 2018

On 8 September, 2018 Terry will be attempting to cycle the full length of the UK from the furthest two points, the iconic Lands’ End to John O’Groats.

This gruelling 980-mile route will be spread over nine consecutive days, averaging 110 miles per day, climbing over 51,000 feet of hills through England, Wales and Scotland. At the end of each day Terry will be roughing it in a tent!

“This challenge is not something I have taken lightly,” said Terry. “Since the start of the year I have been following a strict training programme consisting of around 150-200 miles per week, in freezing temperatures, rain, wind, scorching heat. By the time I set off in September I will have covered around 4,500 miles in training.”Terry Cobbin

“I wanted to do this challenge not only for my 50th birthday, but I also wanted this challenge to benefit Cancer Research UK, the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research. Cancer is statistically likely to affect most of us in one way or another, either personally, a family member, a friend or a work colleague.”

“Cancer hit home to me in 2016 when a close friend of mine, Brian Sayer, was diagnosed with Mesothelioma Cancer. Brian sadly passed away that year aged just 50 leaving a young family behind. Recently I have been made even more aware of the effects of cancer when work colleagues have lost loved ones and been diagnosed themselves.”

This event is self-funded with help from Arrowpak, so all the proceeds raised will go directly to Cancer Research UK. Please show your support for this important cause. No matter how big or small, all donations will be appreciated and will greatly help the charity.
