Watch out for this scam!

Oct 19 | 2016

John Scott from Algarve Removals in the UK contacted The Mover today to warn others to watch out for the e-mail below or anything in a similar style.

John accepted the job below having spoken to Milian Anderson on the phone and taking payment of several thousand pounds by credit card.  The payment was successful and John subsequently paid a fee to the shipping agent, which turned out to be a bogus company.

Later he was contacted by his bank who told him the payment he’d received from Milian was made using a stolen card and that the money would be debited from his account; resulting in a loss of more than £4,000.

The above is a simplified account of what is actually a complex fraud carried out by extremely devious and clever criminals.

Don’t get caught!
