Something to look forward to

Charlotte Parslow, Director, Animo Events, gives a preview of what to expect at this year’s Movers and Storers Show.

Movers & Storers ShowIt seems to us that 2018 has been a particularly tough year for the industry, and lots of movers – particularly those who are vocal on social media – have become experts in having a really good moan. Not that we’re blaming them. With HGV driver shortages, price pressure from the smaller end of the market, and uncertainties over operating in Europe post-Brexit to name just a few issues, removals is a stressful game at the moment. It’s difficult to survive in this market, and even harder to thrive. Letting off steam is essential.

With all that in mind, we’re hoping that The Movers & Storers Show – which will be held at EventCity in Manchester on 21st and 22nd November this year – will be a bright spot in the calendar, something to really look forward to. Where else can you go for a day or two and be surrounded by people who really understand all the challenges you face on a daily basis?

The event is 100% designed with movers in mind. It aims to provide a space where you can chat to other removals professionals, and where you can meet suppliers, try out and compare products, and make good decisions on what equipment your company needs. Whether you are in the market for a new vehicle, some boxes and tape, a uniform supplier, a training company or something else entirely, the show will give you a choice of suppliers and let you check out the options in detail before you sign on the dotted line.

And if you don’t have any deals to make or contracts to sign? You’ll still be welcome, and we hope entertained as well. Our programme of free seminars across the two days aims to educate, surprise and inspire, and we think it’s true to say that not many people walked away from these sessions last year without having learned something new. There are also competitions to take part in or just observe, and this year for the first time we’ll have hands-on demonstrations as well – trainers from the BAR will be showcasing the best way to move and reassemble a grand piano.

Hopefully by the time this article is published we will also have confirmed our new feature, a Google Ads Help Desk – perfect for people who run their own advertising campaigns with Google and just want to check that they aren’t missing any tricks.

As if that weren’t enough, we’ve picked a venue with free parking (including overnight parking for trucks if needed), and there is no cost for movers and storers to come along – for the tenth show in a row, tickets are completely free providing you register in advance.

To register, just visit www.themoversandstorersshow.co.uk – it only takes a couple of minutes. We’re looking forward to seeing you there.
