The Mover online just got better

As you probably already know,
The Mover  has been published online as well as in hard copy since its launch in 2011. In fact, more people now read the online version than the printed magazine and we currently have over 10,000 readers every month around the globe.

The Mover online just got betterSeven years is a long time in digital publishing, so we thought it was time to take a fresh look at the latest technology to see how we could give our online readers an even better experience.  After much searching we discovered PageSuite, a state-of-the-art market-leading platform that transforms the way The Mover appears on screen and gives extra functionality to make viewing and navigating the magazine even easier.

Enhanced viewing

Unlike the old pdf system, you are now able to view the magazine exactly like the hard copy version, with spreads across the full width of the screen rather than in single page format. However, if you still prefer to view one page at a time you can, it’s up to you.

Page turning

Rather than scrolling through the magazine, you can now turn the pages just like the paper version.  An additional feature allows you to display all the pages as thumbnails at the bottom of the screen and jump to any page instantly by clicking on the image.

Pop outs and clippingsThe Mover online just got better

This new feature allows you to click on a story and display it independently in an alternative font so it’s easier to read. This is especially useful if you’re viewing on a phone or tablet. There is also a clipping tool that enables you to ‘cut out’ a particular story and save it on your device for future reference or to share with colleagues.

Sharing via social media and e-mail

PageSuite’s sharing tool enables you to effortlessly share links to individual content via e-mail, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and other social media platforms. You can also bookmark stories, so they can be accessed quickly when you need them.

Search facility

You can now search for a particular story in The Mover simply by entering a search term in the dialogue box.  So, no more scrolling through the pages looking for that elusive article or advert you wanted to revisit.

Live links from adverts

Making an enquiry about a product or service advertised in the magazine couldn’t be easier.  We’ve made all website and e-mail addresses included in our adverts live, so simply clicking on the address will take you directly to the advertiser’s website or e-mail account without having to reinput the information.  That’s good for our readers and good for our advertisers too.

Statistical informationThe Mover online just got better

PageSuite will also allow us to obtain statistical information about which pages of The Mover are the most popular. This will enable us to learn more about the kind of stories our readers enjoy reading, so we can make sure our content remains relevant, informative and entertaining.

Read The Mover on any device

Our research shows that most of The Mover’s online readers view the magazine on their desktop computers, but we also know that more and more people are using mobile devices to access it on the move.

Our new PageSuite platform optimises the display to enable it to be read easily on any device, desktop, laptop, smartphone or tablet, so you can read The Mover wherever there is an Internet connection.

The Mover app is on the way

To improve the online experience still further we are currently developing an app, which will make accessing The Mover  even easier, especially for mobile users.

The app will be available free of charge in a few weeks’ time, so keep an eye on The Mover website for more details.

A major step forward

We believe our new online platform is a major step forward in The Mover’s development and that it will significantly increase the magazine’s already extensive readership around the world. But don’t take our word for it - take a look yourself and let us know what you think.
