COVID-19 status for the USA - DoD travel ban extended to June 30

Pentagon officials say the military travel ban will be extended until 30 June, 2020 to help stop the spread of the coronavirus. The decision was made by Defense Secretary Mark Esper and Joint Chiefs Chairman Army Gen. Mark Milley who did not rule out extending the ban still further if necessary.

The decision is due to be reviewed every 15 days. When the ban is lifted it is possible that personnel who do move could be put into 14-day quarantine. The ban was introduced as the peak military moving season was due to get underway and the awarding of a new military moving contract is expected imminently.
