‘Sustainable Packaging is Coming Home’ was the eye-catching message from manufacturer Protega Global at the IntraLogisteX exhibition held at the Coventry Building Society Arena on 29-30 March. Here the UK company launched Hexcel Wrap, an eco-friendly alternative to plastic bubble wrap.

Hexcel Wrap can be easily wrapped around products to offer protection as good as plastic bubble, but without the impact on the environment. The pioneering paper-based packaging can be dispensed anywhere, either from lightweight free-standing dispensers or from an under-the-bench dispenser.

The 100% recyclable product offers an efficient method of packing fragile goods such as tableware, glassware, and other fragile items, without the requirement for a power supply or adhesive tape. The paper interlocks on itself with no adhesive tape to remove, also making it easier for customers to unwrap the items on arrival.

Protega Global Director, Richard Steedman said, “Businesses were crying out for a sustainable alternative that’s as good as plastic bubble wrap and now they’ve got it: an industry-leading paper bubble wrap and dispensing system entirely manufactured in the UK at our Salisbury plant.”
