London-based Premier Relocation has announced the launch of a new company dedicated to the moving and relocation of professional footballers and their families.
The new company, Premier Football Relocation, is the brainchild of Premier Location’s Managing Director Andy Wells and is supported by Chelsea and England Legend John Terry and Jan Beck Anderson, owner of Brondby Football Club in Denmark.
Premier Relocation is no stranger to the football industry having moved many high-profile managers and players in recent years. Andy hopes to use that experience to tailor exclusive services that meet the high expectations of players at the top of their game.
“Since we started back in 2011 we’ve built a reputation for integrity and reliability, and moved lots of high-net-worth clients ranging from Ambassadors, to executives from Fortune 500 companies - and footballers of course!” said Andy. “The idea of forming a separate company to handle footballers’ moves has been in my head for a year or so, but when John Terry and Jan Beck Anderson offered their support, I decided the time was right to go ahead.”
With 1195 players either sold or loaned during the transfer windows of the English football leagues in 2018/19 and 327 of them relocating overseas to Europe, Asia and the USA, it looks like Andy could be onto a winner. Worldwide, of the estimated 65,000 professional footballers across the globe, 12,425 are expats (according to the Football Observatory) and this is not taking into account their support staff. Often when a player moves to a new club, they will want to take their personal staff with them; for example, a physiotherapist, chef or children’s nanny, they are not willing to leave behind.
As well as moving the players’ furniture, fine art, cars and other valuables to locations around the world, Premier Football Relocation will also offer a full relocation service including help with finding a new home, schools for the children, visa and work permit applications and even the shipment of family pets.
Andy is currently building a specialist team that will deal exclusively with Premier Football Relocation’s clients. Andy said, “It’s of paramount importance that 100% attention is given to each and every one of our clients. I didn’t want our growing commitments to football to in any way detract from our existing client base. Having a dedicated team and two independent companies under the Premier umbrella guarantees every move and relocation has the very best people and resources to deliver an excellent service.”
Although it’s still early days, Andy will be looking to form partnerships with suitable moving and relocation companies in areas of the world with major football leagues as the business expands. Locations likely to be of particular interest are China, Japan and the USA.
