Pickfords Business Solutions has been awarded the contract to relocate The European Banking Authority from Canary Wharf in London to La Défense in Paris.
The decision to move the entire operation to France follows the UK’s vote to leave the EU and the Authority’s need to be based in an EU country.
The scope of works includes the move management and relocation of a significant volume of assets, IT workstations, filing and furniture from London to Paris. Pickfords will also be providing an environmentally-friendly furniture recycling and reuse service by placing unwanted office furniture in the UK within its extensive network of furniture resellers, charities and business start-ups.
Pickfords was selected following a formal bid procedure lead by Head of Business Solutions Martin Budd; the project was scheduled to start in May.
The European Banking Authority considered proposals from a number of potential suppliers and followed a rigorous selection process before appointing Pickfords to manage the cross border commercial relocation.
Martin Budd said, “We are delighted to have been appointed following the selection procedure and following the successful relocation of NATO’s headquarters in Brussels last year. We look forward to working with the bank’s management team during the transition.”
