Doree Bonner International Group has announced that UK mover, Luxfords of Weybridge, joined the organisation on 2 September, 2019.
Luxfords is a highly respected and long-established family-run company founded by Herbert Luxford having originally traded as greengrocers in the late 1880s, later expanding into general haulage and domestic removals. John Luxford has been running the company since the early 90s.
Luxfords will continue to service the local markets of Surrey and south-west London, and its local operational and sales function will remain separate, but it will benefit from Doree Bonner’s central functions such as IT, finance, marketing and its existing nationwide coverage.
The addition of Luxfords to the Group will enhance its coverage in Surrey and the south-west London area.
John Luxford will remain with the company for at least three years to ensure the Luxfords culture for high quality of service is maintained and its current customer base sees no change. All the staff will be retained and the logo and corporate colours of Luxfords will remain the same.
John Luxford said, “Of course, this was always going to be a difficult decision for me. We have been approached by many other movers over the years but none of these felt right. Throughout the many exploratory discussions with Jason, Geoff Watson and Gordon Lyall, it was very clear that their approach was different. They understood the culture of Luxfords, what we try to achieve and what we have achieved over 150 years. They assured me that the Luxfords identity would remain intact, my staff would be retained, and the culture of the company would continue, and our customers would see no difference other than improvements. It also became apparent that my staff would get opportunities for advancement that I could just not offer them. I am very much looking forward to the next three years and helping Jason, Geoff and Gordon cement the future for Luxfords.”
Jason Herbert, Group Managing Director of The Doree Bonner Group added, “This is so exciting for Doree Bonner. We have coveted and respected Luxfords for many years. It is a niche player, like a boutique hotel, superb service at the correct price. Geographically it was perfect for the Group, its culture and customer service match our own. We have many corporate accounts that will be able to benefit from the superb service that Luxfords provides.”
Jason continued, “This will be the first company to join the Group that we will not ‘Doree Bonnerise’ in any way. We are delighted that John agreed to our advances to join the Doree Bonner Group and together we will continue to improve the already fantastic reputation that Luxfords enjoys and further enhance the service offering to its customer base.”
