After building a career in the moving industry, Maarten van Zutphen from The Netherlands has ‘gone it alone’ with the launch of his new company CANI Consultancy & Management.
CANI stands for Continuous and Never-ending Improvement. “We all need to grow continuously, on all aspects of business and life,” said Maarten. “This keeps us all ‘moving’.”
Maarten said that The Netherlands is an ‘in-between’ country that’s not big enough for overseas companies to have full-time representation, but still an important market in which occasional assistance may be required. Maarten aims to provide those companies with a wide range of services, both strategic and operational, including advice on marketing, sales, sourcing, quality, operations and finance related issues. He is also happy to help in a very hands-on way by performing surveys, helping with RFPs, assisting with FIDI FAIM and local certification audits and handling complaints or insurance matters on individual moves.
Maarten has gathered around him a network of specialists, from inside and outside the moving industry, who can lend their expertise where needed on matters such as shipping and logistics. “The industry is in crisis right now and we don’t know what will happen in the future, but if anyone needs help in The Netherlands, and isn’t yet ready to commit to giving the job to a particular moving company, I’m here to help.”
