Gosselin Moving has announced its acquisition of Frey & Klein Internationale Spedition GmbH, including its newly-built warehouse in Simmern, Hunsrück, Germany. Stefan Klein will continue in his role as managing director of the company.
This acquisition is part of Gosselin's strategy to further insource European hauling activities, which is critical for customers in terms of securing capacity and ensuring high quality standards. "It has become increasingly challenging to find professional long-haul drivers who are skilled in packing and loading household goods,” said Marcel Jörg, CEO of Gosselin Moving. “Frey & Klein's consistent high quality services impressed us over the many years we have worked together. In addition, the acquisition allows us to substantially increase our local customer base in Germany which nicely complements the activities we have been developing in Berlin since 2021."
Frey & Klein was established in 1895 and Stefan Klein, the third-generation leader, has led the company to success through dedication, hard work, and expert leadership. The company reached a turnover of over €9 million in 2022, which includes Christ & Wagner based in Sulzbach in Taunus, also part of the acquisition.
The company’s new warehouse, built in 2021, has a storage area of approximately 3,000m² and a fully automated container storage facility with a capacity for 150 x 20 ft containers, which also serves as a customs warehouse. Frey & Klein has a distinguished fleet size for long-distance transport, with around 14 trucks with trailers and many smaller vehicles.
