Quality Service Standards (QSS), the UK certification body that provides and evaluates Quality Standards for the UK and international moving industry, is looking for new members to join its Impartiality Comittee. Could that be you?

David WoodhouseAs part of QSS’s UKAS accreditation, an Impartiality Committee (IC) acts as an independent overseer to ensure its impartial management and operation.

The IC meets as a committee once a year in November and is made up of four people.  One member represents the committee at each of the four QSS Board of Directors meetings held annually (currently one QSS BoD meeting is held physically in Watford (January) and the other three are held over a Zoom platform in April, July and October).

The criteria for membership of the IC are any/all of the following:

  • Experience and/or understanding of working within a regulated environment;
  • Experience and/or understanding of the application of standards and related processes;
  • Experience of impartial and objective assessment of information;
  • The ability to contribute to a considered decision in collaboration with others and;
  • A reputation for integrity and fairness.

This is a voluntary role though any travel expenses incurred in contributing towards the work of the IC are claimable against QSS.
