Henry Speight Removals in Sheffield has recently opened an additional warehouse to accommodate the company’s rapid growth in recent years.
Rob Townroe, Commercial Director, said that turnover had multiplied six-fold since he and his business partner Adrian Philips took over the company less than two years ago.
The new, larger site is located close to the Sheffield Wednesday football stadium. It provides container storage, indoor shipping container storage, trade storage and palletised commercial storage for local companies.
The company is also investing in staff. Bailey Whitaker, at just 20 years old, has achieved his HGV 2 licence. Rob said that he is a “grafter and very mature for his age”. The clients like him too as he is blessed with a combination of empathy, understanding, assertiveness and a ‘can do’ attitude.
Becky Pickering, at 31, has just started a business apprenticeship. “The team at Henry Speight have welcomed me into the world of Removals and I am quickly finding my feet, they enrolled me on a level 3 NVQ for business administration and everyday I am learning new skills and growing in confidence within the industry.”
Business Apprentice, Jack Townson, is just 16 years old. Rob said he is a very committed young man who one day hopes he has his own business. “Jack doesn’t only work for the money but for the passion of his future,” he said.
Rob said he is only interested in team players. “There are no politics here, no blame culture either. Mistakes are made but we work through them as a team. Likewise, all staff know that their job is not just the one on their paperwork. Every job on our diary may become their job. By this I mean we don’t leave any crew struggling – no one is left behind. Everyone works together.”
In the last two years Henry Speight has built strong relationships with local moving companies and is currently looking to partner with a commercial mover in the area. The company has recently been accepted for BAR (British association of Removers) membership.
