Burke Bros in the UK has won the award for the ‘Family Business of the Year’ at the Black Country Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.

Gary Burke, Managing Director commented: “We’ve won global environmental awards and earlier this year won a national award for 'Corporate Removals Service Provider of the Year' in England, but as a company with strong roots in Wolverhampton, winning in our local business community will always have a special resonance for us.  With the Service Provider of the Year award already under our belt, we’re delighted to have won another award from the Chamber.”    

The panel of judges remarked that Burke Bros is leading the way in terms of sustainability and environmentally sound practices in its industry, which has resulted in the company being the first moving company in the world to receive PAS 2060 carbon neutral certification as part of its commitment to net zero, as well as receiving international recognition for its achievements in this field. “What started as a domestic moving company with one van in 1982 has grown to an operation that can service an international moving and relocation market. Beating some very tough competition this year, they are very deserved winners of this year’s Family Business of the Year award.”
