AMSA (American Moving and Storage Association) is dissolving, with the membership to be given the opportunity to become part of the new Moving and Storage Conference of the ATA (American Trucking Associations).
Although the move was announced in August it was subject to approval by the ATA and AMSA Boards and the AMSA membership. This process has now been completed, and AMSA will file Articles of Dissolution with the District of Columbia government to wind up its operations.
Bill Paxton, Chairman of the AMSA (top right) and Mark Kirschner, Vice President (bottom right) have both been involved in the process for some time. “AMSA was part of ATA many years ago and for some time now we have been considering whether it would make sense for the organisations to have some kind of relationship again,” explained Mark. “This year we saw a major change with the awarding of the US Military household goods contract and then COVID happened. We knew that both would have a negative effect on our membership and, although we could have just continued as a smaller group, we felt it was important to maintain our strength so we could properly represent our members.” ...
