Steve Jordan talks to Robby Wogan about his company’s new assignment management software and how it has the potential to bring the industry together as never before.

Robby Wogan  Robby Wogan could easily be hailed as the father of technology for the moving industry.  Back in the 1970s, when most people were still using a Telex machine with ticker tape and marvelling at the mysteries of the fax, Robby was way ahead of the game. 

In 1978 he was part of the team that developed a computer system for Trans Euro in the UK, a system subsequently adopted by Pickfords, then by North American Van Lines, United and Mayflower in the USA. In 1987 he developed the first ecommerce system, particularly extraordinary as it pre-dated the introduction of the World Wide Web. Ten years later he started MoveAssist and has been pushing the boundaries of what technology can and should do for the industry ever since.

More recently, Robby’s team have switched their focus from moving, through relocation and now onto the needs of the corporate customers. This required much more than just developing some new software ...
