Steve Jordan interviews Ben Cross, the charismatic star of Love + Relo, to find out more about the phenomenon it has become and the work that he does to promote inclusivity in the moving industry.
Ben Cross is one of those seemingly rare individuals who has a talent, and has discovered it early enough in his career to put it to use. His talent is as a communicator. His podcast, Love + Relo, is a not-for-profit hobby that has carved out a place for itself as part of the fabric of the moving world. In the broadcasts he interviews people and uses that talent to allow his natural enthusiasm and charisma to fade just enough to let his guests shine. I interviewed Ben knowing this. I had watched some of the posts and his relaxed curiosity, a quality essential for putting people at ease and bringing out the best in them, was clear for all to see.
But it was what I didn’t know about Ben that was even more fascinating. He had found a way of using his natural abilities as a communicator to pursue a totally different agenda; an agenda that will undoubtedly change people’s lives, and the way some people think, forever. Love + Relo is great fun and allows people to communicate honestly and refreshingly with many people online. But talk to Ben about GLOMO, and that becomes a much more serious business ...
