Movers and Storers Show 2024

Jan 09 | 2025

The Movers and Storers Show took place at Stoneleigh in the UK on 19 and 20 November, 2024.

The event attracted over 1000 visitors over the two days.  The show included a comprehensive mix of exhibitors displaying a wide range of products and services; education through the free and continuous Seminar Programme; and competition with the fiercely fought Packer of the Year competition.

According to Richard Peglar, the show organiser, many visitors were at the show for the first time as were many of the exhibitors.  “Pre-registration for the 2024 show was the highest to date, and we also had record numbers of seminar spaces pre-reserved,” he said.  “The event continues to shine as a beacon of opportunity, where the removals and storage community discover cutting-edge products and services that promise to help shape the industry's future.”

One of the standout features of the show is the Seminar Program, hosted by Steve Jordan, Editor of the Mover Magazine, that ran throughout both days.   This year the speakers provided visitors true insight offering invaluable knowledge about emerging trends, technological advancements, and strategies for sustained business growth. Richard offered a heartfelt thank-you to all the speakers who generously shared their expertise with the audience.  Anyone who missed any sessions can pick them up on video through the show website, when they become available in January.

The speakers were: Ian Studd,  BAR(British Association of Removers); Sarah Manning, Secure Stores Nationwide; Rennie Schafer, Self Storage Association (SSA); Colin Bowkett, Mover Alerts; Laura Moxham, YBA (Your Business Angels); Connor Bartlett, Compare My Move; Mark Dawson, Kinnovis; Ant Hebblethwaite, DSOC (Doncaster Security Operations Centre); and Tom Williams, Willbox.  The Mover Magazine will publish summaries of their presentations during the first quarter of 2025.

The Packer of the Year competition is simple yet fiendishly difficult.  Teams of packers just need to reload a storage container with items.  They all came out, so they should all go back.  But will they?  If they do, who can achieve the feat in the shortest time?  Teams competed for a cash prize, a trophy and the use of the winner’s logo on their website and stationery.  This year the winners were the team from Happy2Move from London, with Matthew James a very close second and A.H. Tripp and Son in third.

Manny Sahbmi, from Happy2Move, commented: “What a great show this year.  Our experience at The Movers and Storers Show 2024 was fantastic. It was a great opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces and build new relationships within the industry. We look forward to attending again next year!”

Talking to exhibitors after the close, everyone appeared delighted with the show, reporting much interest and a commitment to return next year.

“Nice to see some familiar faces, meet some new ones, and we’ve had some great leads.” Sarah Manning, Secure Stores Nationwide

“First time at the show and it is completely beyond our expectations. We are overwhelmed with how many people have really received our product in a positive way, and we’re really excited to be here.” Soo Turner, MD of ArtPakk

“Always a fantastic opportunity to meet new people. You meet other suppliers, also other operators, and learn from people in the room. I mean, having all these suppliers in one place is a fantastic opportunity.” Rennie Schafer, SSA

“This is just a brief note let you know the show was a success for us in terms of interest shown in our services and it is now up to us to turn those expressions of interest into paying business. We look forward to the opportunity of attending the 2025 TMSS.”  David Woodhouse, Quality Services Standards Ltd
