Singapore to use Blockchain for shipping documents

According to a recent report in Seatrade Maritime News, the port of Singapore is planning to digitalise shipping documentation, such as Bills of Lading, by using Blockchain technology. This was a move predicted in The Mover two years ago (see The Mover, July 2017).

Lam Pin Min, Singapore's Senior Minister of State for Transport and Health said: “These are significant milestones in the development of digital solutions for the sector. We must find a way for all these digital solutions and eco-systems to work together, only then can we achieve seamless digitisation of trade documentation across the board.”
