COVID-19 status for Peru supplied by Express Transports on 10 April, 2020
First of all we wanted to send all of you our best wishes. We hope you, your families and colleagues are doing fine and passing through this difficult time the best you can.
We wanted to provide a status update on what is going on in Perú. On Wednesday, 8 April the President, Martin Vizcarra, extended the state of emergency in the country until Sunday 26, April. This means the country will continue in complete quarantine until that date. Customs isn’t working, they can only dispatch shipments of first need. Our trucks can’t transit because a move isn’t considered as a first need service and neither can we go to our office, we are only allowed to stay home.
We will continue monitoring our shipments from home and answering any rates or enquiries you have. We will not give any green lights until we are sure of the country’s situation. If you are working any upcoming shipment with us, please don’t hesitate in asking us any questions you may have.
We know this is a difficult situation for all of us, but it is the only way to stop the virus. We will hopefully get back to our office soon, stronger and more united than ever.
Wishing you all the best,
Express Transports Family
