Customs processes interrupted in Costa Rica

Apr 20 | 2022

OMNI member Mudanzas Mundiales in Costa Rica has reported that, due to an alleged hacking, the platforms Administración Tributaria Virtual (ATV) and Tecnología de Información para el Control Aduanero (TICA) of the Costa Rican Ministry of Finance are temporarily out of service.

This service interruption directly affects the nationalisation and tax payment processes for the entry of merchandise into Costa Rica. Although the contingency plan for the National Customs Service is being executed, it only applies to exports, the other operations in the system will be re-established once the situation is solved.

The Ministry of Finance, in consultation with external experts, is working to solve this situation as soon as possible.

Mudanzas Mundiales said that, although the situation was beyond its control, partners are welcome to contact its team with any questions or concerns.
