Africa Mobility Services will be attending the IAM (International Association of Movers) convention in November and will be campaigning to collect pens to help with children’s education in Africa.
The company has asked for attendees at the conference to visit the company’s booth (number 304) at IAM and donate writing implements to help it collect 10,000 pens: 1,000 pens for every year of the company’s existence.
The project is called ‘The Right to Write’ and AMS hopes it will involve the whole of the global mobility industry. “Almost every company produces pens or pencils as give-aways,” said AMS CEO, Kim Becker. “We are asking our friends and partners to donate some of them for distribution to Africa’s children. They are simple, but vitally important items that really make a difference to the kids’ education.”
Charnel Francis, the company’s business development manager, said that there is a continuous demand for new equipment. “Each child gets through around 10 pencils and 10 pens a year,” she explained.
So when you attend IAM, please take along some of your company pens and donate them at the AMS booth. They help children with their education, which in turn contributes to employment and the wellbeing of their communities.
