OMNI comes together in Dublin

Actually, it was just outside Dublin at the Carton House hotel, a luxury venue that was ideal for the 100+ OMNI (Overseas Moving Network International) members to get together in comfort and style.

As always the delegates were mainly the owners and senior managers of some of the mobility industry’s major companies.  The conference provides the perfect environment for people to take a step back from the running of their businesses and take a helicopter view of the industry, its threats and opportunities.  Just as importantly it gives these industry leaders the time to swap ideas, discuss trends and refine their companies’ strategies in line with current thinking.  It also provides the ideal environment to stimulate innovation.

Topics for discussion during the business sessions, which all had full attendance as always at OMNI, included doing business in Europe, foreign investment in Ireland and the continuation of OMNI’s pioneering workshops on sustainability hosted by academic Johannes de Kam.  Guest speakers included David McWilliams, who provided a somewhat alternative perspective on the world of economics; and Paul Kelly from Intel, one of the mobility industry’s biggest customers. Paul provided an intriguing customer perspective on the mobility industry and provided a window on where his company’s developments would be in the future and its potential mobility requirements.

More information will be available in the next issue of The Mover.
