As part of its continuing efforts to reduce its impact on the environment, US-based JK Moving has installed an auger compacting device to reduce waste volumes sent to landfill.

The auger in operationThe auger is capable of reducing the volume of items such as old desking and other bulky commercial waste by up to 10 times, meaning fewer trips to the landfill site and therefore less air pollution from diesel trucks.

In addition, the low-energy motor on the auger is environmentally efficient, producing lower noise levels while increasing overall efficiency by 12-15 times over traditional dumpster methods.

JK Moving claims its commitment to preserving and protecting the environment has resulted in over 4.5 million pounds of waste being saved from landfill each year. That’s more than the weight of at least 150 elephants!
