Drive-up self storage comes to London car parks

UK moving company LOVESPACE has recently introduced a new approach to self storage by providing drive-up storage lockers in London car parks.

Drive up lockers are in several London car parks. The company believes its new service will mainly appeal to younger customers who may be renting their homes and need extra space to store their belongings. The London-based company is looking for partners, especially in the build-to-rent sector, to host on-site lockers nationally.

Drive-up lockers start at just £11.63 a week. People can move their property in and out of their lockers at any time of the day or night, protected by CCTV and a unique pin number, which is reset after each let. Professionally trained staff collect the items and take them to a secure storage facility and deliver them back to the locker at the customer’s request.

LOVESPACE was recently chosen by Transport for London (TfL) to trial the service in a number of its car parks over a 12-month period following a nationwide competition.

Lockers are protected by CCTV and a unique pin numberIn January, the first storage lockers - around 15 square feet in size - were opened in Leytonstone, with South Harrow, Morden, Queensbury and South Woodford to follow next.

Will Edwards, CEO at LOVESPACE said, “We want to provide a sustainable, secure and convenient solution to people who are looking for self storage options, but don’t want to commit to traditional storage units.”

“By offering easy to access locations where people can securely drop-off and pick up their stuff, not only are we aiming to provide a better service to people looking for storage, but we’re also hoping to help reduce the environmental impact that comes from customers having to individually travel long distances to access storage units. We are delighted to partner with TfL on this exciting project and are looking forward to making this a successful offering for Londoners.”

LOVESPACE is currently seeking partners to help deliver the service nationwide and welcomes enquiries from removals companies with suitable vehicles and storage facilities.
