Enterprise Database Corporation (EDC) has announced that Covan World-Wide Moving Inc (Covan), a premier provider of relocation services for households, businesses, and military personnel based in Alabama, USA, has selected EDC-MoveStar Mobile Inventory to provide digital inventories across the company.
Covan’s digital inventory programme includes over 1,000 drivers, supporting customers and clients around the globe, including USTRANSCOM, which has mandated the use of electronic inventories for their Defense Personal Property Program (DP3) beginning May 15, 2023.
EDC-MoveStar Mobile Inventory is part of the EDC-MoveStar Mobile suite of mobile apps and is available to EasyDPS and EDC-MoveStar customers for the completion of electronic inventories for all move types, including military, residential, and commercial. EDC’s digital inventory app includes origin and destination inventory functions, complies with the USTRANSCOM business rules for electronic inventories, and is supported by an experienced team that has been assisting military moving and storage customers since day one of the existing DP3 program.
Additionally, EDC says its digital inventory program is the only commercial solution that connects directly to the Defense Personal Property System (DPS) for real-time updates, and to its worldwide GOgistiX network of Transportation Service Providers (TSPs), agents, vendors, and third-party systems for secure, real-time data exchange and syncing of shipment information, updates and documents, including digital inventories. The company claims that GOgistiX has powered real-time data exchange for over 4.5 million moves and 20 billion pounds for connected customers worldwide.
Covan began as a small, family-owned moving company more than 100 years ago and has grown into an internationally known moving and storage company with over 60 offices in 23 states and one US territory, and more than 400 agents throughout the world. The EDC inventory system will be implemented across all of Covan’s service centers.
Covan’s decision came after careful consideration of the digital inventory solutions available on the market. “EDC is honoured by Covan’s confidence, excited about our continued partnership, and committed to fully supporting the Covan team through the upcoming transition to electronic inventories,” said Diana Corona, President of EDC.
