Tippet-Richardson in Canada has set itself a challenge to raise CA$30,000 by the end of 2022 for Move for Hunger. The charity works throughout Canada and the US to end food poverty.
A spokesman for the company said that it is supporting Move for Hunger because the charity focusses on the moving industry. The charity works through moving companies to collect unwanted grocery items from customers and distribute them to the people who need them most. “Having seen first-hand how effective this is, we want to help Move for Hunger continue their initiative and reach more people, in and out of the moving industry.”
Tippet-Richardson is running food drives (outside grocery stores) twice a year - summer and December holidays - it donates food box donations with every long-distance move, and actively encourages its customers to donate any unwanted non-perishables that it then passes to local food banks, as part of Move for Hunger's initiative.
Anyone wishing to donate can do so here.
