iBidOnStorage, the online auction platform dedicated to selling abandoned storage units in the UK and Europe, has announced that it has expanded its operations in Europe to include Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain.
The company says it expects to add further European countries during the next twelve months.
Since launching in the UK in September 2020 and in Europe a year later, the company has held almost 2,500 auctions and now has around 10,500 registered bidders.
Although not providing a legal solution to circumvent or streamline the laws relating to the sale of a customer’s stored items, iBidOnStorage offers a solution to the problem of abandoned storage units at the point when they have already been through the recommended default process, based on the signed storage contract and local legislation.
The company says that ultimately a storage operator must make its own decision whether or not to sell the contents of an abandoned unit, even after due process has been followed. While there is always the possibility a customer will litigate, by using iBidOnStorage this risk is reduced by being able to prove that the true market price for the goods was achieved at auction.
