Steve Jordan talks to Rob Townroe and Adrian Philips about their new venture and about how moving is more than just moving.
As a Yorkshireman, it’s always a joy to return the God’s country. And so it was when I pointed my trusty steed north along the M1 in the direction of Sheffield to visit Rob Townroe from Henry Speight Removals.
I followed the satnav faithfully to the address on the website. When I arrived at the location I was partly surprised and partly charmed. The place was in an old Victorian building that had once been, I have since learned, a horticultural equipment factory. I was surprised as I have become accustomed to visiting more purpose-build premises, but I was charmed as it reminded me of my early years in the industry in a similar location in the 1970s.
But it turned out that I had been deceived. The company moved two weeks earlier and I hadn’t checked the address before leaving. Note to self …. But every cloud has a silver lining. It gave me the opportunity for another dose of Yorkshire with a 30-min drive across Sheffield to the new place, which was much more what I had expected ...
