French materials supplier Sofrapack says that its new product, PleatWrap, has proven its worth for international moving since the company started production in France for the European market.
Guillaume Rochman, company Founder and CEO, said that customers had doubted whether the product would provide sufficient packing protection compared with the US paper blanket and bubble kraft wrap. “But everyone who has tested it has said the same thing,” he explained. “It is easy to work with, it's strong, only one layer is enough with no extra corrugated required. On top of that it’s good for our ISO standards, it's sustainable and very easy to recycle. It’s also cheaper than the US paper blanket and bubble kraft."
Sofrapack has started manufacturing PleatWrap in France, with the support of the French government, to serve the European market. “We have now delivered the first orders (around 2,500 rolls) and we're very thankful to the first movers who took the decision to use PleatWrap and change their habits.” Guillaume also thanked those companies for their patience as creating the new production line took time. But, he said, they now like the product. “First, they liked the fact that PleatWrap is 100% recycled and recyclable paper wrap and very flexible. They were also surprised at its strength.”
Guillaume said he also experienced similar reluctance to change when he launched his Sofrapack corrugated crates 17 years ago as an alternative to timber. “But, little by little, step by step, they switched to Sofrapack crates because, after several tests, they got confirmation that they worked well and were good for the environment.”
