Crown Worldwide Group has donated $25,000 to People in Need, a humanitarian aid organisation working to support the people of Ukraine affected by the ongoing war.
The funds will aid ongoing projects undertaken by People in Need to provide humanitarian, financial and psychological assistance to those impacted by war in the country. This includes supplies of hygiene kits, drinking water and materials to rebuild and repair houses destroyed, with the aim of rehabilitating residents in freed towns and cities.
A small team from Crown Worldwide Group, led by Barry Koolen, CEO for the EMEA region, met with the representatives of People in Need in Prague, to hear more about the fantastic work they are doing on the ground in places such as Ukraine, Turkey and other countries affected by conflict and natural disasters.
Barry said: “I am pleased we were able to make this contribution to People in Need and to honour the commitment we made in March 2022 to support the people of Ukraine. Our team here in Prague have been volunteering with the charity in many ways, including organising collection drives in Crown’s offices for the donation of emergency supplies. It has been both heart breaking and inspiring to hear stories of the situation on the ground, the resilience shown by the people of Ukraine and the determination of the volunteers to make a difference in the most trying circumstances.”
“Through the past year, Crown staff from across our 45 locations and eight brands, but particularly in Poland, Prague, and the UK, have been actively involved in providing support to victims of war by raising money, volunteering, and donating in kind.”
