Steve Jordan explains why he thinks you should go along to The Movers & Storers Show this year.
It’s that time of year again. Well, almost! The Movers & Storers Show in the UK is ready to roll on 21 and 22 November, 2023, just around the corner. If you have not yet registered, it’s probably about time you did. It’s free to register, as long as you do it before 5pm on 20th November.
The Show has taken its place in the moving calendar as the world’s only independent exhibition and learning seminar for the moving industry. It’s always well attended, with exhibitors and visitors, and attracts many moving professional from overseas too. If you have been before, you’ll know what to expect; if you haven’t, maybe 2023 should be the time you give it a go.
So what will be there? You’ll find exhibitors from virtually every sector in the industry: the latest trucks, materials, technology, services and products to make your lives easier and your customers happy. There’s also the Seminar Theatre providing a running programme of educational presentations, over both days, from industry speakers who really know what they are talking about.
There’s also the Packer of the Year competition. This pits teams from moving companies around the UK against each other to repack a storage container with boxes, against the clock, leaving nothing out. Sounds simple? It does, but it’s not. If you think your packing teams have the energy, spatial awareness, skill and raw competitive instinct to be the winner, give it a go. It’s a great opportunity for your key staff to show how good they are. You’ve always known it, now it’s your chance to prove it.
New this year will be the ‘INNOVATION TRAIL’ to showcase the latest developments in the industry, with new ideas to help your business grow.
All of this is very well but, you’ll probably say you’ve seen much of this stuff before. Yes, I agree. But to look at this Show, or any of the many events that are held around the world throughout the year, as just a collection of people selling things, is to miss the point. It’s not just about that ...
