On Wednesday, 16 January, eight members of the Bishop’s Move team dedicated their day to supporting the British Heart Foundation (BHF) in Kingston as part of AGM Group’s volunteer initiative.
The team rolled up their sleeves and got stuck into sorting stock, with a particular focus on tagging and hanging clothes that had been generously donated by the public.
In a press release the company said that it was an eye-opening experience for everyone involved. The sheer number of bags filled with clothing highlighted not only the incredible generosity of local donors but also the staggering impact of fast fashion. It was a clear reminder of the importance of making sustainable wardrobe choices and how initiatives like this can benefit both charities and the environment.
"As part of our ongoing commitment to giving back, volunteering days like this shine a light on the hard work that goes on behind the scenes at charity organisations such as BHF,” said Janette Mackay, Sales and Marketing Director at Bishop’s Move. “It was a fantastic opportunity to come together as a team, gain a deeper appreciation for the effort involved, and reflect on the importance of sustainable choices in our everyday lives."
The company said that the day was hard work, but the team shared plenty of laughs and left feeling proud of what they’d accomplished. It was an amazing way to support a good cause and work as a team and the group left with a deeper appreciation for the behind-the-scenes effort required to keep the BHF’s charity shops running smoothly.
