London’s Direct Vision Standard (DVS) will come into force on 26 October, 2020 and will operate 24/7, 365 days per year.
Most vehicles over 12 tonnes entering the zone will need a valid safety permit and operators will be fined up to £550 per infringement for non-compliance.
DVS permits have been issued free of charge since October last year by Transport for London, but time is running out for those whose vehicles are not yet covered.
