Volkwagen UK Van Centres are now taking orders for the German manufacturer’s first all-electric panel van for the UK; the ABT eTransporter 6.1. Prices start from£42,060 + VAT, but no date has yet been given for delivery of the new zero emissions vehicle.
Volswagen claims the electric van will deliver up to 82 miles on a full charge - according to WLTP technical procedures - and can be charged to 80% capacity in just 45 minutes.
The van’s compact battery is fitted underneath the load area to avoid compromising the cargo area of 6.7m3, allowing a payload of up to 996kg.
With its zero-emission status, all variants of the ABT eTransporter 6.1 are exempt from road tax (VED) and are afforded unrestricted access to the London Ultra Low Emission Zone and Clean Air Zones. They are also eligible for OLEV’s Plug-in Van Grant (PiVG).
Contract hire is available from £415 per month.
