Traffic Commissioner no longer accepting paper applications for ‘O’ licences

Jul 04 | 2022

Legal transport specialist Backhouse Jones is reminding operators that from 1 August, 2022 the Office of the Traffic Commissioner will no longer be accepting paper applications for new ‘O’ licences and for major changes to existing licences.

Many applications made on paper forms are on old, outdated forms, and this delays applications. Submitting a fully completed online application with all supporting evidence cuts down on extra work for everyone and cases are dealt with more quickly.

Therefore, from 1 August, 2022 operators won’t be able to submit major variations to their licences using paper GV81 forms and must apply online using their VOL digital account.

Those without a VOL digital account must create one now to ensure they are ready to make future major changes to their licence online. An account can be created at here.

Please be aware that paper applications will be returned unactioned after 1 August, 2022.
