Allison was the first female to hold the position and during her time as Chair, was awarded her MBE for services to road freight and transport.

David Wells, Chief Executive of Logistics UK said, “We are delighted to announce James Adcroft as Chair of our Road Freight Council and we are sure that his 25 years of industry expertise will provide invaluable support to our Council members. Mr Adcroft will be succeeding Allison Kemp MBE who has led our largest Freight Council through Brexit, COVID-19 and the driver shortage. I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank Ms Kemp for her enormous contribution throughout the past four years, and to wish Mr Adcroft the best of luck in this role.”

James Adcroft commented, “I am delighted to be announced as the new Chair of Logistics UK’s Road Freight Council. These freight councils are a vital opportunity for members to meet with fellow operators and Logistics UK representatives to discuss the challenges and needs of industry, which can then be represented at a higher level. I look forward to contributing to the continued success of these councils and ensuring the industry’s voice is heard.”

Allison Kemp MBE added, “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as Chair, tackling some of the biggest industry issues of this generation and helping to guide our road freight members through the challenges of the pandemic. These freight councils are an invaluable resource and allow members to raise concerns and discuss potential solutions to the challenges that matter. I am grateful for this opportunity and wish Mr Adcroft every success as he takes over the position.”

Logistics UK is one of the UK’s leading business groups, representing the whole industry, with members from the road, rail, sea and air transport sectors.
