Commercial relocation specialist Business Moves Group (BMG) has appointed Derek Binnie as a non-executive director.

Derek has more than two decades of experience in workplace consultancy and the design and move management sectors.  He has an extensive track record of growing businesses across the UK, particularly in Scotland where BMG is keen to develop.

In his role as non-executive director, Derek will provide invaluable independent advice and oversight to the BMG executive team, including developing and implementing tactics to continue growing the business.

On his appointment, Derek said, “I’ve known BMG and MD Rachel Houghton for a number of years from mutual contracts we have worked on and have great respect for the business.  I’m excited to be able to play a part in growing the business further and sharing my knowledge of the sector in such a dynamic period, particularly in the Scottish market.”

Rachel Houghton added, “Derek has extensive experience of the workplace change and consultancy space and makes a great addition to our team. We’re particularly excited by his in-depth knowledge of the Scottish market as it’s an area in which we want to expand.”
