Altair Global has sadly announced that the company’s co-founder Bill Plummer passed away on September 4, 2021.
Regarded as a visionary and pioneer in the relocation industry, Bill was a treasured and inspirational leader. He distinguished himself by establishing an extremely successful relocation business while also earning a reputation as an innovator.
In 1989 on a card table in their garage, Bill, along with his wife and co-founder, Gail Plummer, started AmeriCorp Relocation Management, Inc., now known as Altair Global. He served as president and CEO until 2004, then chairman emeritus until 2012.
Bill was also a dedicated family man and generous philanthropist. Whenever the company purchased new computers, he would personally oversee the installation of gently used equipment at the school in his hometown of Tonkawa, Oklahoma. He helped to equip the school with its own network, something unheard of at the time for a small, rural school district. He will be remembered for his life of giving and vision of helping people, both personally and professionally.
Chad Sterling, CEO of Altair Global said, “Bill built a unique culture of striving for the best and doing the right thing. On behalf of Altair, I want to recognise him for helping to create the foundation for our success. Our thoughts and prayers are with Gail and the family.”
Together, the Plummers took Altair Global from a niche relocation firm with a handful of employees and one office to a worldwide organisation. Altair Global now has 11 offices across the world and employs more than 500 people.
