Maersk has appointed Aruna Hussain as managing director of Sealand – A Maersk Company, Europe & Med.
Aruna started her career at Maersk in 2000 where she worked in Liner and Trade roles in Pakistan and the UK before moving to Damco in Pakistan. She left for Australia in 2010 but returned to Pakistan in 2016 to rejoin Damco, first as country lead and then as chief operations officer for Middle East. Until taking up her new role on 1 March, Aruna worked as area managing director for Maersk in Pakistan.
“I am delighted to take on the role as managing director for Sealand, Europe & Med. The pan-European market is huge, with evolving supply chain patterns, shifts in sourcing and fast-paced technological advancements,” she said. “Many of our customers are rethinking their logistics strategies to keep pace with these disruptions. This requires us at Sealand to transform faster, connect even more closely with our customers and provide the right solutions that will enable them to simplify their supply chains, cut the complexity and grow their businesses.”
