HomeSafe Alliance, the holder of the US Global Household Goods Contract (GHC), has announced the appointment of Bobby Nicholson as its new CEO, with effect from 1 January, 2024.
As the Global Household Goods (GHC) programme moves from IT development into phase-in operations, HomeSafe is executing a planned transition of leadership. Bobby assumes responsibility for the overall leadership of the programme and the HomeSafe team during this next stage of GHC execution.
Bobby Nicholson previously spent 16 years at HomeSafe’s parent company KBR. Prior to joining KBR, he held leadership positions for 29 years in the US Army, culminating as a Colonel in the Corps of Engineers and completing a Master of Strategic Studies from the US Army War College.
“I excitedly welcome this opportunity to serve as HomeSafe CEO and lead our mission to enhance the quality of life for our nation’s service members and their families,” said Bobby. “I have been eagerly engaging with HomeSafe’s customers, industry partners, and team members, and I look forward to working with all of them as we bring HomeSafe’s innovative solution to life.”
In a press release the company said that the transition of HomeSafe leadership will not cause a delay in the current programme timeline. IT validation testing, planned for January, will ensure full integration and compatibility between HomeSafe’s IT system, HomeSafe Connect, and the US government’s new system, MilMove. The company expects to be performing the first of its moves under the contract in 2024 following the successful completion of testing.
