Canadian software company Voxme has launched a new enhancement for its iPhone and iPad inventory app that enables customers to access a signed packing list before the crew leaves the site – even when no Internet connection is available.
According to Voxme, more and more private, corporate and military transferees are insisting on having sight of their inventory before allowing the crew to leave, causing delays and possible friction when Internet connectivity is patchy or non-existent.
Despite major improvements in Internet coverage during recent years - even extending to aircraft, trains and buses - there are still many populated areas in the world where the Internet is not accessible. Even where there is reasonable coverage, inventories can be slow to download, especially when photos are included, which is increasingly the case. Handwriting the inventory or using a mobile printer in 2018 is no longer considered a practical option.
Voxme Software Inc is based in Toronto, Canada and has support staff in North America and Europe. The company provides phone and e-mail support to its global customer base in English, Portuguese, Spanish, Dutch and Russian. Voxme is a member of LACMA and IAM and is also a regular sponsor of the FIDI annual conference.
Voxme has produced a YouTube video depicting how the app works in practice:
