German trailer running gear specialist BPW has launched a new device that monitors and adjusts tyre pressures automatically to reduce the risk of a blow-out and increase operating efficiency.
The manufacture claims its AirSave system will deliver annual savings of around €700 in operating costs when installed on a three-axel vehicle covering 120,000 kilometres a year. Other benefits include increased safety, reduced down-time and lower CO2 emissions.
Bernhard Rossenbach, Head of Product Management at BPW in Wiehl said, “AirSave ensures that the vehicle is always operational and runs cost-effectively. At the same time, AirSave enhances safety and protects the environment and is therefore also eligible for de-minimis subsidies. The company claims that the system will pay for itself within 12 months, depending on vehicle mileage.
AirSave was introduced on 4 June at the Transport Logistic trade fair in Munich and will be available for purchase from November 2019.
