JK Moving from Sterling in Virginia (serving Washington, DC) has joined OMNI (Overseas Moving Network International). The company was voted in as a Probationer of the organisation at the annual conference in Palm Beach. The company must serve as a Probationer for two years before having the opportunity of achieving Guarantor status in OMNI.
JK Moving was started 35 years ago by Chuck Kuhn as soon as he got his driving licence at the age of 16. Having experienced poor service when his parents moved to Iran when he was a child, Chuck was determined to do it better. Today the company employs over 1,000 people during the busy summer period, has an annual revenue of $105 million and owns over 55,000 sq met of warehouse space across MD, DC and VA.
David Macpherson, Senior Vice President, Global Move Management for JK Moving, said that he had worked with OMNI member companies for many years and was now delighted to be a member of the organisation. “We are very proud of our employees and what we have achieved,” he said. “OMNI is the group of market leaders worldwide and we believe we have earned our place there. Unlike some other groups, OMNI is still focussed on the household goods market and we greatly admire that.”
As well as its household goods work, JK Moving has a thriving office moving business and is a member of OMA (Office Moving Alliance). JK also offers a range of relocation services through its subsidiary CapRelo.
