Changes to DP3 program could destabilise moving industry

Dec 20 | 2024

In response to a 5 December e-mail by Andy Dawson, TRANSCOM’s Director of the Defense Personal Property Program Management Office, sent to some industry leaders outlining significant changes to the current Defense Personal Property Program (DP3) for 2025, the International Association of Movers (IAM) sent a letter in response to the e-mail from Dawson, expressing significant industry concerns with the proposed changes.

In the letter from IAM President Brian Limperopulos, IAM warns that these changes could destabilise the moving industry and negatively impact military service members’ relocation experiences. IAM emphasises the importance of stability, collaboration, and maintaining existing performance structures to ensure DP3 capacity and quality service. The Association urges TRANSCOM to pause the changes, engage with stakeholders, and retain the current DP3 model to support military families effectively.
